‘This invaluable compilation comprises an excellent introduction to really late late Brian – and as such a body of endlessly fascinating and uniquely rewarding music.’ Kevin Mandry, British Music Society

‘…..a major release for anyone exploring the 32 symphonies of Havergal Brian………The single-movement No. 31 is a delightfully conversational free fantasy in the hands of Charles Mackerras, while No. 32 is no symphonic farewell, still full of energy and invention.’ BBC Music Magazine, April 2025

‘……….Heritage’s wonderful archival release (nicely remastered) of Brian’s four last symphonies.’ Guy Rickards, Gramophone April 2025

‘The sound of the older performances has been cleaned up and opened out, much to their advantage, and that of the 30th offsets the dryness of the Maida Vale acoustic. John Pickard’s insightful booklet notes are further incentive to acquiring this welcome and necessary release.’ Richard Whitehouse, Arcana FM
